In October 8, 2010, all stakeholders of the Ministry of textiles were invited to participate in the joint meetings, including from cotton to clothing, cotton traders, yarn manufacturers, fabric manufacturers, Handlooms, power looms, finished products and woven fabrics.

This is the first time that the textile industry has participated in the joint conference and reached an understanding on the price issue.


The Minister of textile has made it clear that once the number of registered cotton export contracts reaches 5 million 500 thousand packages, the export registration will cease immediately and no more cotton will be exported.

The Minister of textiles urged all sectors to do their jobs well.

After discussion, the meeting decided to reduce the price of all cotton yarn. The price of 40s Combed Knitting yarn will be reduced to 195 rupees / kg. The price reduction ratio will also apply to yarn of other yarns. The meeting also decided that the same yarn price would last for 3 months, even if the price of cotton fell from the current price level.
