HUAWEI Europe Expands &Nbsp; &Nbsp; Acquisition Of Belgium 4G Chip Business

According to the new agreement and the terms of the HUAWEI -Option cooperation agreement announced in October 27, 2010, HUAWEI will acquire all the issued shares of M4S. The deal is part of a HUAWEI -Option cooperation agreement announced last month to promote the development of mobile broadband solutions in Europe.
According to Reuters, in October 27th of this year, HUAWEI and Option announced that they would cooperate in Telecom R & D projects and aim to establish a joint R & D center in Belgium. HUAWEI also announced that HUAWEI would buy Option's next generation mobile communications semiconductor subsidiary, M4S, at a price of 8 million euros.
Option chief executive Jan Callewaert (JanCallewaert) said: "the signing of the agreement has also led to the end of M4S's search for partners. M4S will benefit from HUAWEI's huge R & D capability and introduce the most innovative 4G chipset solution in the best environment. "
HUAWEI executive vice president and HUAWEI equipment chairman Guo Pingcheng: "the acquisition of M4S enables HUAWEI to be able to provide more innovative mobile broadband devices, accelerate the commercialization of 4G services and support the European DigitalAgenda (Digital agenda) plan."
He continued: "M4S is currently developing the most advanced 4G RF chip set. We believe that the strength of M4S in chipset will further expand our technology engineer network, enhance our R & D capability and provide customers with more value."
