China Levies Green Tax For Textile Industry

In China

Textile industry

It is an important industry, but the textile industry has its unique competitors.

Price

The ability to pay is huge.

According to the 2006 China Geological Environment Association

Monitor

It is reported that 70% of China's rivers, lakes and reservoirs are polluted.

Despite recent recognition by government officials of the seriousness of the situation, there is no sign of diminished emissions of toxic substances, persistent substances and bioaccumulative substances.

In China's textile industry is an important industry, but its unique ability to cut competitors' prices has paid a huge cost.

How to levy

Environmental tax

It remains to be seen, especially after the rise in wages and exports.

In November, Joseph Lau, vice president of Hongkong Federation of industries, said that the minimum wage in the Pearl River Delta could increase by 16% to 20% in January of next year, Joseph Lau.

This means that the local textile enterprises may expect a sharp rise in labour force, and the companies with high raw material prices, highly labor-intensive and producing basic textiles will face significant challenges.

This week, all eyes are focused on the climate talks in Durban, South Africa, and the world waits for China to think about its next move.

According to information released on Tuesday by Ecotextile News, China's textile industry may face a new green tax, although the world's largest polluter is working hard to achieve its environmental goals in 2015.

In order to improve the chances of achieving the goal, the State Council of China will actively promote the tax related to the environment and study the Levy of environmental taxes.

Although China says its goal is to reduce GDP by $16% per 10000 yuan (US $1570) by 2015, it is equivalent to a reduction of 6.70 million tons of coal processing.

But in fact, according to the statistics of the Ministry of environmental protection, nitric oxide emissions are mainly polluted by an annual increase of 6.17%.
